I've had mine for nearly two years and I think it works great for an expensive alternative to kegging. However, after I screw in the two co2 cartridges I wait until the next day to start pouring. You have to give it some time to absorb the co2. Most of the time I can get through one 6 litre bottle with only two cartridges. Mark, My 6 litre bottles rarely last more than a month. That probably explains why I can usually get through them with only 2 cartridges. When I found out I could make good brew I was hooked but it still takes me better than two months to finish off a five gallon batch. With SWMBO drinking some as well it reduces it to just under two months. I've been making 6 to 8 batches per year since 2000 and have only gone dry once and that was just after Rita last year. I try to have two beers always on tap but right now I'm down to half a batch of English Brown and it's too darn hot so I may run dry before I can brew again. We usually get a cold front come through in Sept that will drop the temps to the upper 70's for a high and I'll brew my next batch during that cold snap. Brrr :-) Mark R

When there is very little head space a couple glasses can reduce the pressure to near zero. The more head space the more you can pour before this happens. If you wait several hours CO2 will come out of solution and repressurize the head space and you can pour more beer. Unlike John I find that I have to install more cartridges to finish off a keg. I add them one cartridge at a time. The longer the keg lasts the more cartridges I've used. One time I went through 6. Right now I have one a month old that's still on its first two cartridges but really needs another one plugged in. Mark R
