Subject: ss false bottom

Those of you who use a false bottom, is it common to get small amounts
of grain under it even if it doesnt raise up off the bottom of the tun?
I just moved from a double bucket tun to a 10 gallon cylindrical
cooler with a ss false bottom. I'm using a length of copper tube for
flow between the false bottom and the ball lock valve output. This
worked like a charm on a batch i brewed saturday however i was seeing
alot of small pieces of grain through the hose during the runnoff.
this never messed with the flow of the sparge but im concerned maybe
too much is getting under the falst bottom. Maybe my crush was too
fine but once the sparge was done and i poured the grain out, it seemed
like some grain was stuck under the false bottom. do to my setup with
the copper pipe the only way i could lift up the bottom and remove the
grain would be to loosen my compression fittings and take it apart.
Also it seems like one edge of the false bottom is raised up about a
millimeter off the bottom. i wouldnt think this would be aproblem
since its only raised on one end such a small amount of space but it
might be if grain is getting under there.

my setup was modeled after this
