Hello All I've been trawling ebay and the used lists for a magnetic stirrer with 2L capacity. The ads don't always specify capacity volumetrically, but usually give a wattage rating. Any idea how many watts a 2L capacity stirrer will use so I can shop by that value? Thanks - JB ----------------------------------------------- John Bleichert syborg@earthlink.net The heat from below can burn your eyes out!!

Have you considered building your own? You could build any size you want. Here is a link to several sets of plans: http://brewiki.org/StirPlate

I'll have a whack at it - hell I have most of the parts in my workshop, except the magnets... Thanks!! They're really easy to build. If I can build one then believe me, anyone can. You'll also save yourself some serious cash which can go towards more beer.

I used some rectangular magnets that I got from radio shack for about a buck a piece. Works great, Just make sure you mount it correctly with super glue or else your stir bar might stand straight up rather than flat.
