Any of you guys having a problem with the newsgroup? My google groups
monitor keeps telling me there are tons of new messages, but my newsreader
doesn't show any....

I'm guessing something is up (or down) with my news server maybe.

I'm using Google Groups and posted yesterday and today.
Seemed fine although I didn't do alot of reading - 5 or 10 posts.

I was having the same problem with outlook express for last two days. This
morning I created a new news account and subscribe to the group for it to
work properly again.

That was exactly my problem Pete, and your suggestion worked. I had deleted
and resubscribed to the newsgroup, but not the whole news account. Thank
you!

It's Google in general, I just posted a few in RCW and it's not
updating there either.

It does seem to be related to Google, I use it as my reader and I
noticed it behaving on this group as you describe yesterday; I post
more to rec.crafts.winemaking and that looked and still looks normal
through Google though.

I'm not sure if you'll see this response if you're having problems, but it
sounds like an issue with your local news provider.

Thanks for the reply John, I (hopefully) have it all sorted out now!

(fingers crossed)

Sometimes the news provider will reset the article numbers, which can
throw your client out of whack. That may have been what happened since
unsubscribing and then resubscribing fixed it. That would have forced
your client to re-sync with their server. Of course, it could have been
something completely different too, I'm just guessing.
