I brewed last night at a friends and using a bucket for my primary i pitched the yeast there. when i got home, i poured my wort with the pitched yeast in my sanitized 6.5 gallon carboy since the lid on my bucket doesnt seal well. This morning i see no action yet in my carboy and im concerned my pitched yeast was left at the bottom of the bucket along with some trub i didnt pour to the carboy. Would pitched yeast sink to the bottom in 1.5 hours? I would think it would stay floating around in the wort especially since it was being rocked around for 30minutes in the car, but there was a very small amount of trub on the bottom of the bucket when i transferred it, and i didnt pour that to the carboy.

Rocking the batch in the car would be a nice way to aerate it. If only I didn't live four stories up... Give it some more time. It'll take off. What kind of yeast did you pitch and how was it treated before hand? You may just be seeing normal lag time since it's only been overnight. Some of the yeast might have settled out, but I'd be pretty surprised if all of it did. If you haven't seen any visible fermentation within 36 hours or so, go ahead and pitch some more yeast. John.
