Hi all, Just a thought. Has anyone ever added lemon zest to the secondary in something like a pale ale or a hefe ? Are there oils in the zest that make this a bad idea ? If you did try this, and liked (or disliked) the result, how much zest did you use ? Thanks, Duke

I enjoyed the flavor but it reminded many people of floor cleaner, and consequently the thought it tasted "soapy." The safe bet is to a wedge with the drink.

They used lemon, lime, and orange zest I believe. I haven't tried it but was really, really tempted with our last Hefe.
