A friend of mine just purchased a beer gun and I am deeply envious! I'd like to get one but the $100 pricetag makes me hesitant. I'm wondering what the opinions are here of the beer guns available, or perhaps you made your own? Dave

I think it was less than $100 (should go for around 75), though. You could probably make your own if you were sufficiently motivated. The beer gun minimizes foaming by simply pushing the beer through a long length of 3/16th bev line. Also quite nice is the ability to purge the bottle with Co2 with the same hand you're filling with. I've done quite a few bottles with these, including some that have been allowed to age for a while and not seen any problems -- highly reccomended. -- (Replies: cleanse my address of the Mark of the Beast!) They charge 5.99 flat rate shipping, so the whole thing should cost you only 76. Could be better deals elsewhere -- dunno. -- (Replies: cleanse my address of the Mark of the Beast!) Now I prefer to use the Blickman Beer Gun. I have the accessory kit. It does take longer in my experience to bottle the same number of bottles with the BG vs using the CPB because the pressure must be lower than when using the CPB. But there is less mess for me and less must-work-valves-in-proper-order.

The gun was actually 70.00, but I opted to also get the accessory kit so I was certain I'd get the "proper" accoutrements. I still ended up modifying one of my 4-block stations to accomodate 3/16" line, as the rest of my gas line is 5/16". But, since I can turn this line off at will, via a valve, I can adjust pressures as needed for either filling with the beer gun, or pushing beer from the kegs for serving. I'll be hooking it up tonight, the Grolsch bottles are already sanitized and chilling, ready to be filled!
