I saw in someone's catalog a while back a waterless airlock. It was made of silicone (silicon?). Does anyone know where to get one of these and has anyone has experience with them? Phil ====== visit the New York City Homebrewers Guild website: http://www.hbd.org/nychg

Not sure if it's what you are referencing, but I've seen gizmos with two stacked flapper valves in a cylinder. It should work since the flapper will only open when there is positive pressure. My only thought is that if you put your wort in a little warmer than ambient and wait for it to cool before pitching, the valve system wouldn't allow air to flow back into the fermenter and you could get a pretty hard vacuum seal. > > > Phil > ====== > visit the New York City Homebrewers Guild website: > http://www.hbd.org/nychg Bryan
