Subject: Too Much Vanilla

Howdy all,
So back in September I brewed a nice little pumpkin ale. When I
transferred to secondary I tasted the green beer and decided to add 2x
cinnamon sticks and 1/2 of a whole vanilla bean split in half. Every
week I tasted it and it was fine; in fact, it steadily got better. When
I went to keg it last week, it had suddenly gone from great to bad. :(

Basically, it now has a slight medicinal taste and the vanilla is
overpowering to the point where it tastes a bit like cough syrup. The
nose is excellent, as are the color and clarity. Underneath the vanilla
is an excellent malty beer. So I'd love to be able to salvage it
somehow. Unfortunately, it's not particularly drinkable at this point;
I'm considering just dumping the batch.

The only thing I can think of is adding some oak chips...

Any suggestions on repairing this?
