Subject: Superior Lager Yeast temperature

I recently got some dried Superior Lager Yeast (from Australia), and was wondering if it's truly capable of fermenting at lager temperatures and handling lagering at about 35-40F. The package says to go no lower than 15C, but that's 60 degrees more or less, and it kind of defeats the point of brewing a lager, I'd think. Am I pretty well making a clean-tasting ale, or can "Superior Lager Yeast" actually work like a real lager yeast?

Ferments best between 47 and 52 degrees Farenheit." That is between 8 and 11 degree Celcius. -- Thomas T. Veldhouse Key Fingerprint: D281 77A5 63EE 82C5 5E68 00E4 7868 0ADC 4EFB 39F0

Does anyone have any practical experience with this yeast type? Should I even attempt fermenting with it at 50 degrees, or should I just expect to ferment it at about 60?
