I have been using brown malt in my milds the last couple of times. I really like it, but it seems to me that it takes about a week longer to clear even with the same yeast, etc. That's not a problem, I'm working on patience issues, (this year, I'm not going to drink my cherry stout while it's still too tart- promise) it's just that I haven't noticed before that different malts affect how long it takes to clear. Is this typical? John

Is this typical? Could be that the brown malt just has a higher than normal protein content, which leads to haze, and takes longer to clear. John.
