Subject: Rack for WL Tubes

One thing I don't like about the WL tubes is that they don't stand
upright. Anhyone know of a nifty way to rig up some sort of rack to
store them? I'm surprised no one has yet put such a thing on the
market.

Turn it upside down. The top is flat.

I have a test tube rack that works fine. You just need to make sure it's
appropriately sized. Most sci-supply houses should carry these -- I
forget where mine came from, though -- but it was cheap.

Put it in a mason jar or pint glass instead of buying a stand.

That's the most practical solution yet. Thanks. Don't know why it
didn't ocur to me, since it's how I store my bagged slants.

What you need is a hydrometer stand.

I use a test tube rack that my wife brought home from work. Any place
that sells chemistry stuff should carry something like that. I haven't
seen much at homebrew stores along those lines though.

My test tube rack has small openings, so I couldn't use it for the
purpose. No matter, I only have three vials on hand, and they're
conveniently propped up in a jar. I plan to keep slants of yeasts
eventually anyway. Thanks.

www.cynmar.com has several cheap plastic tube holders. They have a bunch of
stuff for yeast ranching. No affiliation or whatever. I bought some flasks
there and some other odds and ends.
