Subject: Pony Keg for hlt?

A friend of mine just gave me a pony keg. It was a working keg 8 years
ago when it went into his shed. I have been noodling what to do with it.
I am still in the process of deciding on the design of my three tier
system. I fly sparge with a 50qt picnic cooler now, and think that I
want to stay with it in the future.

So I am thinking of my largest grain bill to date. It was 25.5lbs for a
ten gallon batch. At 1.25qt/lb that is right at about 8 gallons of
water. Would it be possible to use the pony keg for the hlt on the top
tier in an effort to keep my overall height down? I fill my hlt now
right off my hot water tank in the garage, so using a king cooker it is
only about ten minutes to strike temperature.

Also, while on the subject. I am thinking of putting the boil kettle as
low as possible to the ground and still get a burner under it. Right now
my brew partner of the day and I pick it up after cooling to drain into
the primary (ies). But my thought is to use a 12v rv potable water pump
to pump the cooled wort into primary. Any thoughts on this?
