Can anyone offer some feed back on this product? Looks fairly innovative and
would probably keep my faucets from gumming up (due to lack of use).

I have two of those faucets and would highly recommend them. I've gone
a week or more without pouring and a sticking tap has never been a
problem. You can get them for $27 each at Superior Products
www.superprod.com NAYY

Agreed, these are the *best* thing I ever did for my 3-faucet beer 'fridge.

I am tempted to buy two since I am the only one in the house drinking
my beer, unless I have friends over. It takes me some time, and I get
stickiness if I do not take precautions.

I've seen this faucet design before. From what I've heard, they seem to work
pretty well in preventing the faucet from sticking. They do tend to be a
little more expensive though.

I've heard the Perlick's are a knockoff of the real thing, is that true?

That's it! Is the Vent-matic actually any better than the Perlick?

From what I've heard they both work just as well but the Vent-Matic was a
better build quality... so the rumor goes. Vent-Matic had some issues a
while back. I don't recall what the problem was and the Perlick was the
only seal forward faucet available. From the NorthernBrewer website it
appears someone else has licensed the rights to make the Vent-Matic seal
forward. http://www.northernbrewer.com/ Here's the text:
Shirron Forward Seal Faucet. We are proud to offer the return of one of the
most requested items in our catalog. Ventmatic, the company that invented
the all-stainless forward seal faucet, is in receivership. We thought this
would be the end of the fantastic Ventmatic faucet, but a homebrew-friendly
company called Shirron has acquired the rights to produce this patented
faucet.

The Shirron Forward Seal Faucet represents a huge improvement over the
conventional beer faucet. First of all, every metal component on the faucet
is made of stainless steel. There is no chrome paint that can chip, and no
brass that can tarnish or impact beer flavor.

Second, the Shirron Faucet has the seal the very front of the faucet, so the
lever mechanism never has a chance to dry out, get sticky, or become
contaminated. The action of these faucets is incredibly smooth, from the
first glass to the last!
