Appears that MS does have some pretty good beer now.

I visited Lazy Magnolia a couple of weeks after they first opened. Good
people and good beer, although if you're a hophead, it may not be your
thing. If you like malty beers, you'll dig their stuff, though. The Southern
Pecan brown ale is excellent. I haven't had a chance to try their stout,
though because I'm two states east of their distribution. The had a close
call with Katrina. Their facility had only minor damage, but almost all of
their accounts were on the coast and were completely distroyed. Within a
couple of months they had rebounded and actually surpassed their pre-storm
sales by a large amount. The brewster, Leslie Henderson, was even able to
quit her dayjob as an engineer to work full time at the brewery and hire
some help. Her husband Mark still has his dayjob but still does a lot of the
sales side of the business.

And of course they're former homebrewers. I'm not sure I know a professional
brewer who wasn't a homebrewer first. I know there are some out there, but
of the few dozen I've met, I don't know of one who didn't do it at home
first.
