So I've been looking around for a Mac & Jack's African Amber clone...
to no avail. I surfed through the forums (no luck), and the BYO recipe
archive (no luck here either--the recipe is marked as being there, but
there's no link). Does anyone happen to have the recipe or particular
issue hanging around? Anyone please?

Thanks in advance,
Shane.

That's BYO March 2002, I'll look but I gave a lot of back issues to a
friend.

Here's a brew I did a couple weeks back that came out pretty close to
Mac & Jack's. I wasn't trying to clone it, but it tasted fairly
similar-- maybe a tad more bitter. I'm not sure what hops they
actually use, but typical northwest "C" hops are apparent.

7.5 lb 2-row
2.0 lb Munich
0.75 lb Biscuit
0.5 lb Crystal 40L
0.25 lb Malted wheat

mash for 75 minutes at 152-154F.

1.0 oz Amarillo 9.2% for 60 min
0.25 oz Chinook 12.8% for 60 min
1.0 oz Amarillo at 0 minutes
1.0 oz Centennial dry hop

Wyeast 1056, primary at 68F.

some tweaking of the above should get you there.
