Is it possible, by buying replacement plug assemblies, to change
a pin-lock Corny keg to a ball-lock keg? I'm not sure which version of
the pin-lock keg I have (3 in all) but as the ball-lock seems to be
the dominant variety now it would help to be consistent when I get more.

It's possible, but it's going to be fairly expensive. Usually, buying two
extra posts is going to cost almost as much as buying another keg. You
might want to think about just selling the pin lock kegs and getting all
ball lock kegs instead.

If you do want to try and convert your existing kegs, keep in mind that
there are several different size/types of the threads that the posts fit on
to. You'd have to make sure that the posts you get are compatible with the
fittings on the keg. IE, you can't even swap ball lock posts between ball
lock kegs all the time, there are different "versions" of them out there.
The reason for this is that there are several different manufacturers for
what we commonly refer to as "corny" kegs. They're not all identical, even
beyond just pin vs ball.

My understanding is that the two systems use different threads. It might
be better to just find someone to swap with, or set your system up
for both like I did..
