Subject: How to clean a sankey tap?

Hi all,

I built a 3-tap kegerator a couple of months ago and I reserve one tap
for commercial brew. I recently bought a sankey adaptor from my LHBS
to fit the commerical kegs. How do I clean the darn thing? I have
been cleaning my beer lines and faucets with beer line cleaner, but I
have no idea how to clean the internals of this adaptor. It does not
seem to come apart like the connectors on the Corny kegs I use for
homebrew.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

M

Yeah, I too have concidered this problem with my homebuilt
kegerator. I know there are these "cleaning canisters" out there you
can purchase. Their great you open it up pour in your beer line cleaner
and pump it straight through with co2. Follow up with a sanitiser or
something that won't harm you to drink it and your good. Rapids is one
place that sells them. I'f your not into the cleaning canister idea
then your like me, you gotta take it apart and do it the hard way. In
this case those skinny long tube type brushes come in real handy. Well,
there you are! Good luck dude.

I haven't figured out how to take mine apart either, but I usually just
run the line cleaner through the tap at the same time I run it through
the lines. Seems to work fine.
