Subject: Denny's Rye ARticle in BYO


Denny,
Your Give Rye a Try (BYO - May, 2004) article is great. Thanks.

It was definetly a nice complement to the Dornbusch article in the
same issue.. his German Roggenbiers all used a Bavarian Hefe type
yeast, where your selection had a variety of basic styles + Rye.

I'm still somewhat suprized that there is no Classic Style series on
Rye/Roggen beers.

Also annoyed that BYO doesn't just have all back issues on the
website. I ended up using inter-library loan to get the article.

I recently made a Pilsener type beer with 30% "7-grain cereal
oatmeal", triticale, 3 types of wheat, rye, barley , and spelt. It has
a nice snapiness at the end.
