Well I brewed today and it was as hot and humid as young love outside. I took the advice of several posters from other hotter n hell climates and here's what I did. Chucked the pre chiller and went with a submersible pump set in an ice water bath. Yesterday I took my round 5 gal cooler and filled it with water. Set it in the fridge overnight. Pored it and a couple of 10lb bags of ice into a bigger cooler today. Ran the garden hose through the wort chiller and got the wort temp to about 130' before it got stuck. Unhooked the garden hose and hooked up the submersible pump in the ice bath. about 10-12 minutes later I'm pitching yeast. I got it down to about 75' and it could of kept going. Just recirculated the water in the ice bath. Some great advice from y'all. Next trick, looking for a 2nd hand fridge or freezer so I can larger in it. Thanks & Cheers

Just recirculated the water in the ice bath. That's what I do.. but I only need 3 bags of ice for a 3 gallon boil. -- Dan
