So, what's the highest you've ever gone with priming a standard 22oz
bottle? You know, not the thick-walled crazy ones, but the average
ones you get from most homebrew supply stores.

I just made a Dunkelweizen and primed to style at 3.75 volumes (15oz
DME @ 5.25gal), not thinking that bottle strength might factor in.
However, after doing the math, it seems that might be way too high.
New Brewing Lager Beer states 44psi as being the absolute upper limit
for average bottles; I figure 3.75 should bring me to the upper 30s at
60F.

Anyone ever prime to this level? Am I safe, or should I prepare for a
bottle-bomb battle? What's the most you've ever primed to with
standard 22oz bottles?

Based on discussions I've seen in the past (no first hand knowledge though),
generally you should be alright under 4.0 volumes. Above that and you start
getting into trouble.

A lot of it is going to depend on the bottle (thickness of glass, general
shape, etc).
