For the obligatory 4th of July grillout this year, I made an overnight beer marinade for some chicken breasts. I used Bud, but was wondering if anyone else has done this with other beers, and if so, what styles? Any preferences or perceptible differences from one beer to another?

A Vogel is a bird so chicken is a bit cannibalistic,eh? : >) A Bud marinade offers some alcohol and little extra flavor...LIKE A BUD!! Usually you marinade (acidic or alcoholic) to tenderize big chunks of beef (brisket =best example) but to impart a flavor a RUB is used.Decide on what flavor you wish to add. There are lotsa rubs which work well in a vinegar/olive oil combo.Check out the BBQ sites and the alt.food.barbeque newsgroup -- Thanks, Hank "Bob Vogel" <bobvogel2004@yahoo.com > wrote in message news:1152109397.916051.200880@p79g2000cwp.googlegroups.com... > For the obligatory 4th of July grillout this year, I made an overnight > beer marinade for some chicken breasts.
