Subject: Ahhh.... 2 weeks back in and as many batches

For a couple years now, a simple extract wheat (flavored with Rasp.
flavoring) is my "return to brewing" brew. I just got finished racking that
one. Same reaction as every year.... oh yeah, *that's* why I do it.
(grin) I stole 2 liters for my growler (which is primed and should be ready
to down in a week), and the rest will go in the keg with the flavoring next
week. This morning I made a simple Pale Ale... extract with grain, all
cascade (including an ounce of my home grown cascade).

I got more Weyermanns Hefe extract to make another batch of wheat on the
yeast left over. And, I got some stuff to use up the 11 (or so) lbs of LME
(Muntons Superlight) left over from last season. I'm going to use all of it
and some grains to make a pseudo-Imperial Stout. My basic idea recipe sets
it at 1.087 OG, and hopped to 65 or so with Galena. The yeast cake from
this mornings pale ought to be big enough for it next weekend. I'll see how
I feel about it when it goes into the keg... maybe I'll put some cherry
flavoring in. It ought to make a half decent mid-winter brew.

Anyway, I know... I'm rambling. It just feels good to have my clothes
saturated with that hop aroma and to be back in the swing of things.
