So did they announce where it was going to be next year?
(hoping it will be someplace that I can get to!)

Cheers,
John

The buzz around the conference was Cinn...dunno if that will turn out to be
true or not...

That would be doable for me.
Isn't it normal for them to announce the next location
at the conference? Did they not, or did you just miss it?

Dunno about historical conferences, never gave them my money before about 6
montsh ago. They did say they would announce in about a month.

Denny will know, he's like Mr. AHA...;)

In Las Vegas (2004) and Baltimore (2005), they announced next year's
location at the end of the awards banquet. I think they did the same in
Chicago (2003) as well, but I wasn't there.

(I skipped Orlando. One year of hot-and-humid weather weather was enough
for me. It'll be interesting if the scuttlebutt is correct and next year's
conference is in Cincinnati (sp?), as my parents should've moved to Dayton
by then.)

I was. They did.

I can understand them still having some details to work
out on a bid. It can't be easy getting the right location,
local clubs, etc.

:)

I don't think they normally do announce at one conference where the next
one will be. At this point, there are a few possibilities and Gary
Glass is reviewing bids and doing site visits.

I was there Friday for the seminars and club night. I had a total blast. My
club is SAAZ (www.saaz.org.) To anyone who didn't attend you missed a good
time.

Back atcha, Mike! same goes for Mark and the rest of the NC crew! I'd
love to try some of that stuff! And yeah, it's REALLY hot here! On the
way home, pretty much everything screwed up and the trip took 24 1/2
hours!

There are two strong contenders for the NHC next year, Denver and
Cinncinnati. AHA has not fully evaluated (or recieved) the hotel bids from
the potential host cities. An announcement of the host city will apparently
not be made until they can assess the hotel situation(s).

I would be more inclined to think that Denver will host next year, but it
will also depend on the support of the regional clubs.

I'd be inclined to attend at either location. I like
Denver and the region in general, and can make it into a
family vacation. Cinncinnati is close enough to drive,
so easy to bring in lots of beer and food for Club Night.

Cincy submitted its bid a number of weeks ago. The AHA really wants to go
to the other side of the country next year so Denver is being explored as a
late entry. The fellow heading up Cincy's bid works for me.

Dan, I sat in the meeting where next year's location was discussed, and
while Denver was under discussion as a possiblity, I really didn't get
the impression that "The AHA really wants to go
to the other side of the country next year"....it's merely one
option....

The rumor I heard was that 2 years from now will be an anniversary and that
is why they are leaning toward somewhere other than Denver for next year so
it can move there for the anny.

Wow. That's dedication. Did Raj bring some of his, er,
kitchen-inoculated product? ;-)
