Can someone point me to a web page / supply details for using 1 liter pop bottles to bottle beer. What do you use for caps? The one that came on it orginally? TIA

Yes you can use the original caps until they show wear or don't seal well. You can also buy new caps. They are commonly called PET caps. Available from most (all?) brewing shops. You can reuse them a few times if you like (just make sure to sanitize obviously). I recommend removing the tamper ring off the lids before screwing the lids on (else the rings get stuck on the bottle and require prying with a screwdriver to get them off). The rings do not seal the bottle, they are only there to show if the bottle has been opened.

Interestingly they are fairly expensive to buy and not expensive if you just save them. I just threw out about 2 dozen of them. > What do you use for caps? The one that came on it orginally? Yes Caveat: The bottles are made of PET plastic which has a very good shelf life for keeping carbonation in and a very poor shelf life for keeping oxygen out. I used them for short term storage of beer I was giving to my friends until they thought it looked tacky and gave me a couple of cases of flip-top bottles. Dick

The one that came on > it orginally? Are you talking about plastic soda bottles with screw on caps... aka PET bottles? If so, they should work fine. Lots of people use them for brewing. I think you can get away with just reusing the original cap, but there's probably somebody somewhere that sells replacement caps for them. Many homebrewers use them, so maybe one of the larger online retailers carrys the caps? One thing to note though, is that they aren't the best thing to use if you are considering long term aging in the bottles. If you are going to drink it all within a few months, then they should work great. If you want to put them aside for a year before you open them, you may want to think about using glass bottles instead. John.
