Apparently there is no sort of spam protection in outlook express (just like
most other windows components!)...can any of you recommend a newsreader that
is stopping all of this crap? or are all of you seeing this stuff as well
lately?
Thanks in advance...just in case anyone can actually see this message in the
sea of crap!

I've mainly just lurked here but the bastages are now sporging with differnt
groups rather than the sci.crypt they were over the weekend.
I did send off a report to the abuse at suddenlink hopefully that will take
care of the sob for awhile.

Argh, I thought it was fishy when there was 3000+ new topics in the
last three days. Unfortunately I use google groups to read so there
is no spam filtering I have access to. I can't believe this just
started though. Maybe the spam filtering just broke at google
recently.

I'm not seeing them... my news service apparently is doing the spam
removal for me. My ISP outsources that to Supernews.
I think that supernews sells accounts to individuals if you want to
pay for news...

Yep, it's annoying but I've set up a Score rule in my reader to filter
it all out. For windows newsreaders, take a look here. Don't know how
up-to-date it is though:
