Subject: Mini Keg supplies in Canada

So I'm moving again, this time to Toronto (Canada), but unlike previous moves I'm not able to take my brewing supplies with me (small apartment). Any way's, in an attempt to save a little space (and a lot of headaches) I've been planning on switching from bottles to mini kegs when I move. Problem is, I cannot find a local supplier of mini kegs (or general brewing supplies for that matter), and my usual mail-order guy (paddock wood) doesn't carry the kegs themselves (although they do have many of the mini keg supplies I need). Anyone know of a supplier, either in Canada or one willing to ship up here, who carries mini kegs and taps? thanx Bryan

Hi Bryan, I just found a website for woodstick wines in ontario. http://www.woodstick-wines.ca/ It looks like they have what you're looking for: "14440 1 X 5L ALUMINUM PARTY KEG 502 g $8.00 "

I don't know if Canadian stores sell those 5 liter minikegs of beer, but you can use those. IF you're not gonna drink the entire keg in a day or two, you can buy a CO2 tap through a homebrew shop or online at MoreBeer or Northern Brewer or Williams Brewing, among others. The bung in those minikegs usually has to be taken out (you can do it with needle nose pliers and warm water), and replaced with a soft bung. I used to do this when I lived in an apartment. I got tired of bottling after the first batch! Well, if you're not happy with the beer filled ones, then I'd just do a google search for 5 Liter minikegs, and see what pops up. Who knows? You might even find some on Ebay.
