And why? What the hell is the purpose of sending out 4-5k of useless random posts? You can't even trust the senders name anymore-one post had responses from this a$$hole supposedly from TechnoShroom, Scott Lindner and TARoque! How did they pull THAT one off?

"HbDragon" <mlruble@cox.net > writes: > And why? > What the hell is the purpose of sending out 4-5k > of useless random posts? Two possibles: 1. It really is Supernews (which I doubt)? 2. It some piece of scum who can keep a job and has nothing better to do than to masturbate on the Internet. In either case, it is a criminal act. Dick

Lame script kiddies proving they are powerful by disrupting things. It's the Usenet counterpart to spray painting naughty words on a wall, only cheaper as they don't need to buy spray paint. -- Drew Lawson

Wikipedia also has some info on it The name itself (sporge) is a combination of spam and forge and forging regular users names is all part of it. I am not going to look into it further, it supposedly has some tie-in with the church of scientology. I'll let others investigate further but I seriously doubt it will go on for much longer. They move from one group to the next and as there are 10's of thousands of groups, it's a bit like Haleys Comit, might be years before they come around again. In the meantime..........I've got some beer to make, now THAT's important. Steve W (in Aus)
