Hello group, I'm new to brewing.

I just made a batch of American Ale from Malt extract. I have some 1 gallon
wine jugs going.

wanting to learn more about Apple cider.

Definitely google for lots of details. However, simple apple cider is
very easy. Just add a good dry ale yeast to 5 gallons of apple juice
(pastuerized is OK, but preservatives are bad) and ferment as usual.

Just bottle, age, and drink. You can carbonate it like beer for
sparkling or not - up to you. It should usually be aged a pretty
good while - it takes about a year for mine to get crystal clear.

You can add sugar, honey, or other fermentables to boost the alcohol, etc.
