I brewed a RIS stout today. Probably 1.120 gravity. I normally add some molasses but I did not have any. Anyone else add this or something similar?

Since I brewed the beer today, any problems with adding some without boiling? homebrewdude wrote: > I brewed a RIS stout today. > Probably 1.120 gravity. > I normally add some molasses but I did not have any. > > Anyone else add this or something similar?

I would boil a little water and add the molasses to the water, so that it's easier to stir into the wort. -- Nic Templeton - Seattle WA Hotel - Tango - Hotel

Why don't you boil some in a little water, let it cool, then add it to your brew? That would be the most sensible approach. Adding it without boilng risks infection, and may not dissolve easily. -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service ------- >>>>>>http://www.NewsDem

Be sure that the molasses is not sulfurated. It should tell you that it is sulfurated on the label.
